Sapore Catering's culinary vision is built on seasonality, service and taste.
Sapore Catering has been a San Francisco staple since 1996. Growing from the catering arm of Caffe Sapore, a European-style eatery situated on a sunny, charming corner in the heart of North Beach, Sapore Catering steadily and organically grew out of a love of finding opportunities to gather patrons, friends and family together to rejoice healthy, eclectic food on a personal level.
Although these days the stoves are bigger, the menus are broader and the tastes are more refined, our hearts still beat to the same drum: to simply build community around healthy, fantastic food.
Elias Bikahi – Chef/Owner
Elias Bikahi holds more than 30 years of restaurant and catering experience. After working up the ranks in some of San Francisco’s most recognizable restaurants, his culinary talents were soon sought by both private clientele and event organizers. Before long, his notoriety elevated Sapore Catering to becoming the preferred vendor with many San Francisco event venues and corporate clientele. Largely self-taught, Elias found success in his catering endeavors due to his passion for his craft, his vast knowledge in-and-around numerous culinary realms, and his personal attention to every project. His knack for developing clients’ ideas into exciting, thriving events are a byproduct of his creative vision, his charismatic and outgoing nature, and a belief in giving the best there is to offer –- both of himself, his team and his ingredients. Elias is a graduate of USF and lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children.
Vache Darakjian – Owner & Director of Operations
Vache Darakjian comes to Sapore with over 20 years of operations experience. With a passion for organization and optimization, he has led numerous companies through vast expansion, both as an Owner and as an outside corporate consultant. As the Chair of SF's Annual Bazaar & Food Festival -- a 3-day event in September attracting over 10,000 attendees -- Vache was introduced to Elias, and together they inspired to bring a unique vision to San Francisco catering. His heart, soul AND palette have one unified voice -- a voice that was first cultivated by his Armenian and Lebanese roots, and later nurtured by the generosity and oneness felt time-and-again around tables in curious lands. Vincent van Gogh's words are Vache's quiet blessing: We are not here for ourselves alone . As a USC graduate and a Newport Beach transplant, Vache finally migrated north and is now perched in the Bay Area with his wife and three boys .
